A leading global bank managing over $2 Trillion in assets had initiated a future core banking programme to change 65% of their business and IT landscape across the country concerned. Following the conduct of a programme assurance review conducted by Aspire, the team assigned was retained to help implement the recommendations made.
Aspire provided a two man team with one member taking the role of transformation lead and the other member taking on the role of chief architect. The team was tasked with helping to define the end to end programme plan to provide structure, transparency and control on a circa $100m programme involving approx. 500 staff and impacting 3000 employees. This included implementing changes to governance and change control through the implementation of a technical design authority capability. The Aspire team was responsible for supporting the business, key supplier, technical, conversion, integration, testing, training and change and implementation workstreams across all retail, wholesale, finance, operations, risk and HR business domains.
Aspire added value to the programme by introducing structured thinking into a cultural setting more used to reactive fire-fighting. Aspire played an instrumental role in extending client team thinking to look at the long term implications of change and break this down into structured tasks and activities with clear ownership and accountability against which progress could be measured and control managed.
